Martha Pulido-Landínez Associate Clinical Professor for Avian Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, Mississippi State University

Dr. Pulido’s primary area of expertise is veterinary preventative medicine, poultry health and pathology, and food safety. Her research studies Salmonella control in the poultry industry, health and production in commercial layer and broiler vertical integrations, and antimicrobial resistance and no antibiotics use in the poultry industry.

After 24 years working as Associate Professor with the National University of Columbia in its College of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics (1991-2015), currently Dr. Pulido works as Associate Clinical Professor for Avian Medicine and Diagnostician of the Poultry Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (PRDL) for the College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University. She also consults to many integrated broiler and layer companies as well as to many official poultry producer associations like the Columbian Federation of Poultry Producers (FENAVI), the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association, National Service on Animal Health of Costa Rica (SENASA) and Costa Rica Poultry Producers (CANAVI), and many other associations.

Dr. Pulido completed her Veterinary Medicine degree at the National University of Colombia College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science in 1990. This was followed by a Master of Science in Animal Health and Production at the National University of Colombia College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science in 1996, and her PhD of Veterinary Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Porto Alegre, Brazil College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. Dr. Pulido got her certification as Poultry Veterinarian by the American Association of Poultry Veterinarians (ACPV) in 2015.

Dr. Pulido is originally from Bogotá, Colombia.

She has also been an invited professor at multiple US and Latin American universities, and a major professor and national/international consultant for multiple Veterinarian students, Animal Science students, and Graduate students in the US, Colombia, and Ecuador. Dr. Pulido has been an invited speaker at multiple international poultry meetings, and has authored and co-authored multiple research and technical papers.
