James D. Chapman Dipl. ACAN

James (Jim) D. Chapman, Ph.D. currently is a consultant to Phibro Animal Health’s R&D ruminant nutrition group. Prior to Dr. Chapman’s retirement from Phibro in 2023, he held the position of Senior Research Leader in the collaborative research group and was responsible for the execution and coordination of ruminant and non-ruminant research with Phibro Animal Health’s nutritional specialty products. Prior to that assignment Dr. Chapman served as the Director of Research and Technical Services and was responsibility for the leadership and direction to the overall dairy nutritional specialty products research and product development programs and technical support activities both in the United States and internationally.

Dr. Chapman joined Phibro Animal Health in 2002, as a ruminant nutrition specialist to provide technical support to sales and marketing of dairy specialty products. For the past twenty-one years, prior to his retirement in 2023, Dr. Chapman has been involved with the development and commercialization of OmniGen, Animate, Cellerate and, Phibro’s other innovative products for ruminants and other species in the US and internationally.

 

Dr. Chapman has authored and co-authored more than 80 technical articles, peer-reviewed scientific publications and popular press articles and has served on the advisory board of several nutrition conferences and professional organizations. Jim holds Bachelors and Master of Science degrees in animal science and animal physiology from Texas Tech University and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Georgia in ruminant nutrition and physiology.

 

Dr. Chapman is a member of the American Society of Animal Science, American Dairy Science Association, Sigma Xi, and American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists, where he has diplomat status in the colleges of animal nutrition and physiology.
