Rui Goncalves Global Aquaculture Business Developer, Lucta
Dr. Goncalves gained his BSc degree in Marine Biology and Biotechnology in 2006, an MSc in Aquaculture, a Post-Graduate degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Algarve (Portugal), and his PhD at the University of Stirling, studying the impact of mycotoxins in aquaculture. In 2006, Rui started his career working for one of the major Gilthead Seabream and Seabass hatcheries in Europe, where he was responsible for the larval rearing and weaning. Afterward, he focused his work on aquatic species nutrition and health at the University of Algarve. In 2014, after a period working in Norway in a sea urchin hatchery, Rui joined BIOMIN Holding, having worked as an aquaculture scientist in the Development Department for Mycotoxins.
Dr. Goncalves is an author and co-author of more than 50 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, and led the publication of the book entitled, "Mycotoxins in Aquaculture," where he was also author of several chapters.
