Dr. Dufour-Zavala's research interests include epidemiology, geographic information systems and laboratory quality programs. She is the first author on two peer-reviewed publications on boric acid toxicity and the epidemiology of Inf. Laryngotracheitis, and was editor in chief of the fifth edition of AAAP's Isolation, Identification and Characterization of Avian Pathogens publication. Dr. Dufour-Zavala has served on the Board of Directors of ACPV and AAAP, was president of AAAP from 2021-22, and currently serves on the advisory boards for the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Georgia Institute of Technology's ATRP program. She also serves on the coordinating council for the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN).
