Lon W. Whitlow Professor Emeritus, Department of Animal Science, North Carolina State University (Raleigh, North Carolina); Phibro Consultant for Molds and Mycotoxins
Dr. Whitlow's research and extension centered on nutritional management of dairy cattle. In the mycotoxin area, his research, indicated a prevalence of mycotoxins in dairy feedstuffs resulting in chronic toxicity in dairy cattle that effects production and health. He has also shown that certain feed additives can ameliorate mycotoxin toxicity.
At NCSU, Dr. Whitlow served as the Departmental Extension Leader and as the Research Coordinator for the Piedmont Dairy Research Station. He is currently a consultant directed at helping today’s dairy producers manage mycotoxin problems.
Dr. Whitlow received his education at the Universities of Kentucky, Florida and Wisconsin.
