Alexandre Berndt General Director, Embrapa Southeast Livestock

Alexandre Berndt holds a DsC in Ecology of Agroecosystems from University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is a researcher at Embrapa Southeast Livestock since 2010 with an emphasis on Low Carbon Production Systems, mainly in methane emissions and mitigation strategies. He is a member of Technical Committee for the elaboration of the Brazilian National Communication on GHG for the UNFCCC. He participates in the FAO/LEAP's Technical Advisory Group on Enteric Methane and represents Embrapa in the FAO's GASL-Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock. He is a report reviewer for the IPCC and the World Bank. He currently serves as President of the Brazilian Society of Animal Science.
